Annual Event 2019

Scholarship Awards
Seventeen scholarships ranging from $1000-$2500 will be given to the winners among qualified high school graduating students and ten scholarships ranging from $250-$650 (1st $650, 2nd $550, 3rd $450, 7 of $350 each) will be given to the winners among qualified Middle school graduating students.

The top award in the high school category has been instituted by Sanjiv & Rajesh Chopra in memory of their parents Sarla & Kishan Gopal Chopra. Award of excellence in sports has been instituted by Jack Khangura in memory of his wife Rajinder Khangura.

Two awards in Visual & Performing Arts in middle school category are given in honor of “Teachers, parents and family.”

Academic Excellence Awards
High School Graduates – Thirteen Awards $1000 - $2500
First Place Winner will also receive “Profiles in Excellence” Revolving Trophy

Middle School (8th grade) Graduates – Ten Awards $250 - $650
First Place Winner will also receive “IAHF Founders” Revolving Trophy

Outstanding Achievement Awards
High School Graduates: $1000 and a revolving trophy
1- Math,Science&Technology; 2- Sports; 3-Visual & Performing Arts;
4-Community Service

Special Awards: $200/each for Perfect score in Quiz/SAT/ACT

Middle School Graduates: Visual & Performing Arts
Two ($250 and $200), India Heritage Plaque

Eligibility Criteria
GPA B or higher for Academic Excellence Awards, C or higher for Outstanding Achievement Awards, & one or both parents of Asian Indian origin. See Guidelines and Instructions for more details.

Revolving Trophies
“Profiles in Excellence” revolving trophy was instituted in 1991 for the top awardee in the high school category. The trophy has been funded by Ashok Madan & family since 2003, in memory of their parents Thakar Singh & Shanti Rani Madan.

“Founders” perpetual trophy for the top awardee in the Middle school category was instituted by Dr. Awtar Singh and after his death, his niece Sonia Batra has been funding it in memory of Dr Singh.

Math & Science trophy was instituted and has been funded by Dr. M.L. Bhaumik in remembrance of the most important numeral ZERO invented in India. Satpal Jandial started funding Community Service trophy since 2016 in memory of his parents Mani Ram and Gian Dai. Ukabhai Solanki has started funding Visual & Performing Arts trophy in memory of his mother Kadviben.

The six trophies and twenty nine awards continue the rich tradition of honoring excellence and accomplishments of graduating students.
